David Fincher is well known for being a master of camera movment and framing. In this interview with Craft Truck, Conrad W. Hall (son of the legendary DP Conrad L. Hall), discusses his work on Panic Room and how he feels that Fincher really has never shown us what he is really capable of.

“I so appreciate him because he has such tremendous visual pinache. and yet, When you look at his early work in rock videos and commercials and things like that, he so reigns himself in terms of when you look at when you look at Fight Club or Seven…those movies are very subdued…I don’t think he has ever shown what he could do. Not even close.”

Hall also takes us behind the scenes on Panic Room and how they did 108 takes of a simple insert shot of an insulin bag being thrown across the room.
