Dan Golding’s Brilliant Rebuttal to Every Frame A Painting’s Essay On Marvel Soundtracks

A few weeks ago, Tony Zhou and the crew over at Every Frame A Painting released a new video discussing how all Marvel Soundtracks sound alike. The video starts by asking people to hum the themes from popular films like Star Wars or Harry Potter. They are then asked to hum the theme to a Marvel movie, a challenge that nobody seems to be able to meet. It’s not surprising that most of the themes people are humming are written by the person who I consider to be the best composer who has ever lived, John Williams. But in the following video essay by Dan Golding, he discusses the idea of originality in soundtracks and how themes such as Star Wars were actually heavily influenced, if not almost copied, from previous works.

Here is Every Frame A Painting’s Original Video Essay, in case you missed it.
