IFA #25: Bite & Antisocial 2 Directors Chad Archibald and Cody Calahan

Play

Today we’re talking with Chad Archibald and Cody Calahan of Black Fawn Films. Together Cody and Chad have been responsible for horror films such as The Drownsman, Ejecta, and Antisocial. They’re newest projects, Bite and Antisocial 2, both premiered at this year’s Fantasia Fest in Toronto. I sat down to talk with the two directors/producers/writers about how they have managed to build a successful career and stand out in the crowded world of horror filmmaking.

Bite

While on her bachelorette party getaway, Casey, the bride to be, gets a seemingly harmless bite from an unknown insect. After returning home with cold feet, Casey tries to call off her wedding but before she’s able to, she starts exhibiting insect like traits. Between her physical transformation and her wedding anxiety, Casey succumbs to her new instincts and begins creating a hive that not only houses her translucent eggs, but feeds on the flesh of others. As her transformation becomes complete, Casey discovers that everything can change with a single bite.

Antisocial 2

Years after having her newborn child stolen from her, Sam searches a world infested with infected users from the Social Redroom website. After befriending a young girl named Bean, Sam is captured and locked in a facility dedicated to finding a cure for the Redroom Virus. Trapped and tortured, Sam tries to escape the facility before an impending update on the Redroom site hits 100% and unleashed its final phase of attack.
